Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an American actor as well as a producer and director. She is employed in film and television. Her acting journey began in theater and later appeared in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also received a host of awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995 she made her acting debut in The Tempest as Ariel. Her credits on stage include the Broadway production of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. In her film career, she is renowned for her performances in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television her regular role in the ABC's crime drama series High Incident has earned her high praise.
