Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Alongside his appearance in the drama series released globally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other critically highly acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a lead role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, his character was the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his character as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. In addition to his native Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has also mastered various accents. He has stated that he and his brother initially began to learn English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
